- Download the Solaris 10 DVDISO file to a directory that is accessibleby the management server.
Steps
- Copy the Solaris 10 OS ISO fileto the management server.

- (Optional) Create a custom post-installationscript to configure the bge1 datanetwork interface when the server boots. Savethe file on the management server.The following sample script configuresthe provisionable server's bge1 datanetwork interface at system boot using thedata network DHCP server.
- (Optional) Customizethe default OS profile so that it uses a flasharchive and a post-installation script.The flar attributevalue is the full path and flash archive filename, for example, /jumpstart/Flash/archive1.flar.The script attributevalue is the full path and script file name,for example, /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-bge1.The type attribute specifies thetime when the custom script will run duringthe installation. Valid values for the typeattribute are:
- pre–Run the script before the installation (forexample, drivers).
- post –Run the script after the installation.
- postnochroot–Run the script after the installation. Thescript does not have to be run as superuser(root).
The OS profile is modified to use thedesignated post-installation script and theflash archive file. - Show the drag-and-drop OS profileicon on the Dashboard tab.
- Click the Edit List button beneaththe OS Profiles list.The listof available OS profiles appears.
- Select the relevant check boxand click OK.The selected OSprofile is added to the Shortcuts pane.
- (Optional) Connect to the serialconsole of the provisionable server.
- Choose All Servers from the ViewSelector menu.The Servers tableappears.
- Select the server for which youwant to launch a serial console.The Server Details page appears.
- Choose Open Serial Console fromthe Actions menu.The serial emulatorappears.
- Choose Servers By Group from theView Selector menu.The ServerGroups table appears.
- Drag and drop the OS profile iconfrom the Shortcuts pane to a server group.The Load OS Profile wizard appears.Use the wizard steps to guide you throughthe screens.
- To begin loading the OS profileon the selected servers, click the Finishbutton in the final step of the wizard.The wizard window closes and a job numberappears in the Command Line pane.
- Track the OS profile installationby using any of the following methods:
- View the Serial Console windowoutput from Step 5.
- Click the Jobs tab to viewthe OS Load job, and click the Job ID fordetails.
- Click the Event Log tab toview any events generated by the job.
